Magyar Telecom se sépare de 300 personnes, annonce 77 milliards HUF de benefices
Hungary’s biggest telecommunications provider, Magyar Telekom, will dismiss 300 staff by year’s end and pay a dividend of HUF 50 (EUR 0.187) per ordinary share from its HUF 77.371 billion (EUR 289.62 million) after-tax 2010 profit, the annual general meeting decided last week. The company will increase remaining employees’ wages.
The road ahead
CEO Christopher Mattheisen told the AGM that the company will focus on the development of services with high profit margins, such as the market for mobile internet or television and selling the company’s various products (landline, mobile, internet and television) in one package. He said the release of 300 workers will cost some HUF 3.5 billion (EUR 13.11 million). Starting in July “regular” employees will receive a 4 per cent wage rise and management a 2 per cent increase.
The meeting approved the financial statements and corporate governance report.
