Budapest Airport on December 22nd 2008 signed a contract with construction company KESZ to build the new central terminal as well as rebuilding existing terminals at Budapest Ferihegy International Airport by 2010, airport operator Budapest Airport announced on December 22nd 2008.
The project is a part of a HUF 52 billion (EUR 196.79 million) investment.
The construction of the new central terminal to be called Sky Court, linking 2A and 2B terminals of the airport, will entail the demolition of 12,000 square metres of terminal space, the construction of 50,000 metres of new space and the reconstruction of 35,000 square metres of space.
At the time of Budapest Airport privatisation the buyer agreed to invest HUF 65 billion at Ferihegy International Airport by 2011.
