US chemical company Albemarle Corporation, a global leader in delivering innovative specialty chemicals, clean energy solutions and outstanding sustainability practices, opened a USD1 million service center in Budapest on Wednesday. The new facility is called Albemarle's Center of Excellence (ACE) – a solution to standardize and streamline the company's global processes.
Budapest has been in competition for the service center with several other foreign cities, but Albemarle found the well-qualified and motivated young workforce with foreign-language skills it needed in Hungary, CEO-President Mark Rohr said at the opening ceremony for the center.
The government agency, Investment and Trade Development Hungary (ITDH) CEO Csaba Kilian said that ITDH had provided assistance to the US company in building contacts and finding employees. The new facility is located in the Capital One Square building in downtown Budapest, with ergonomic furniture, state-of-the-art technologies and modern amenities. It was recently recognized by Construction & Investment Magazine as the "Best Office Building Development of 2009”.
