The town of Pécs in the South of the Transdanubian region can be reached by motorway from now on, as the M6 motorway passage from Dunaújváros to Bóly and the M60 passage from Bóly to Pécs, an altogether 145 km-long road, are handed over on the 31st of March,. Hungarian motorways will grow to 1098 kilometers with this investment.
On the new motorway passage four tunnels, totaling 81 kilometers, have been built. The longest is 1331 meter-long. There is a 24-hour camera system installed monitoring the traffic, and fire alarms. They have also built temperature, speedometer and traffic counter appliances inside the road surface.
Operators will have good access to intervene in case of emergencies, and via the public address system they can give orders to those in trouble. The construction of the M6 motorway lasted two years and cost more than HUF 270 billion.
The economic department calculates approximately HUF 1 billion per month for the second phase of M6 and 1 billion in total for the third phase
