Korea's NexDisplay is looking for a site in Zala County, Hungary, to build a EUR 15 million LCD display plant, local daily Zalai Hirlap reported on August 11.
NexDisplay is considering four industrial parks in the area around Nagykanizsa and Zalaegerszeg (SW Hungary), said Jeno Krajczar, Managing Director of KETRAX Hungary, the investment organizer.NexDisplay wants to build a plant with a monthly capacity of 700,000 units.

La société NuovaEnergia pourrait construire un centre logistique en Hongrie
Hungarian-Italian NuovaEnergia plans to build a HUF 500 million (EUR 1.86 million) logistics center in Hungary.
Hungarian-Italian NuovaEnergia plans to build a HUF 500 million (EUR 1.86 million) logistics center in Hungary for the distribution of equipment designed to boost energy efficiency, company Managing Director Csaba Ferenczi said at a press conference on August 11. NuovaEnergia Financial Manager Piroska Torjek said the company has already signed a preliminary agreement to buy a 1,600-square-meter building to package the Italian-made products in Nagykanizsa (SW Hungary). The company has exclusive distribution rights in 15 European countries. NuovaEnergia plans to employ a staff of 100 at the centre. The company intends to pay for the project using private investments and grants. NuovaEnergia expects the logistics center to begin operations by the end of this year.

Reva pourrait construire des voitures electriques en Hongrie
US-Indian joint venture REVA Electric Car Co. Ltd. (RECC) is considering building a new plant in the Hungarian city of Debrecen, local newswire Figyelo reports.
The EUR 25million facility with a yearly capacity of 15,000 units, would create 200 jobs.
According to JanosSzabo, CEO of Comtex Green Power Ltd. - the official distributor of REVA cars in Hungary -, negotiations with the Hungarian Investment and Trade Development Agency (ITD Hungary) have already been started. Originally launched in India in 2001, the REVA plug-in battery electric vehicle is a 2+2 seater using a lightweight tubular steel frame and ABS body panels. It operates without a clutch and gear, offering a top speed of 80 km/h and a range of about 80 kilometres. RECC has recently announced its plan to to build the world's largest electric vehicle factory in Bangalore, capable of producing 30,000 units annually.

Les ventes de viande Mangalitsa aux Etats-Unis devraient augmenter cette année
Sales of ham produced from Mangalitsa hogs raised in Hungary is expected to reach between 1,000 and 2,000 in 2009, National Association of Mangalitsa Breeders President Peter Toth told MTI.
Manglitsa ham is sold in the United States through the Spanish company Monte Nevado. A 4kg Mangalitsa ham cured for three years costs USD 500-600 in the United States. About 50,000 Mangalitsa hogs are slaughtered in Hungary every year. Pick Szeged, the country's biggest meat company, slaughter about half these Mangalitsa pigs, which represent about 2pc of Hungary's domestic hog stock. Mr Toth said that Pick Szeged is also likely to enter soon the US market for Mangalitsa ham.

Slovaquie / Hongrie: Les relations entre les deux pays se tendent encore un peu plus
Le président hongrois Laszlo Solyom a annulé in extremis vendredi une visite prévue dans un village frontalier slovaque, où vit une importante minorité hongroise, après s'être vu refuser l'accès au pays par le Premier ministre slovaque. Sans franchir la frontière, le chef d'Etat hongrois a finalement donné dans la soirée une conférence de presse depuis le milieu du pont séparant les deux pays, dénonçant « une situation sans précédent, inexcusable et inexplicable dans les relations entre deux pays alliés ».
